Hellyers Road Distillery has expanded its national team with the appointment of Nick Miles as Business Development Manager, based in Brisbane, as the Tasmanian distillery continues to strengthen its presence on the mainland.
Miles joins David Debattista and David Witko, who manage trade partnerships from Tasmania and Victoria respectively, as part of a growing national sales and brand development network for Hellyers Road.
Derek Charge, CEO at Hellyers Road Distillery said: “For decades Hellyers Road has been quietly crafting and maturing the finest aged whiskies in our remote corner of North West Tasmania.
“Nick is the perfect person to let the rest of Australia in on the secret. He’s an ideal fit for Hellyers Road because he cares about the integrity of our whisky, as much as he does about making sure our customers are well looked after.”
With 14 years’ experience in the drinks industry, Miles brings extensive knowledge and strong on-premise connections from his time working with leading global and local brands including William Grant & Sons, Estrella Damm, and Pernod Ricard.
Over the course of his career Miles has earned a reputation for making whisky accessible and engaging, building long-term relationships across the trade, and championing the craft and culture of the Australian spirits industry.
Known for combining industry insight with a personable approach, Miles has worked closely with bartenders and venues nationwide, helping to grow appreciation for premium whisky and elevate storytelling behind the bar.
Miles said: “I’m excited to start working with Hellyers Road, a true pioneer in Tasmanian single malt whisky. This opportunity is a chance for me to share their story, celebrate the craft, and maybe sneak in a little fun along the way, because great whisky should always come with great memories.”
His appointment marks another step in Hellyers Road’s strategy to deepen trade relationships, enhance brand visibility, and support continued growth across Australia’s whisky market.
