Nine has announced it has secured a transaction with Optus Sport and the Premier League for the exclusive Australian rights to show the Premier League and Emirates FA Cup.

The multi-season agreement will see all matches, starting from the 2025/26 season streamed live and on-demand on Stan Sports. Fans will also be able to experience the Premier League live never before in Australia as matches will be available in 4K.

With more than 20 million Australians engaging with Nine’s platforms every month, we have an unrivalled ability to generate excitement at scale, drive audience growth and deliver meaningful commercial outcomes for our partners.

As well as the Premier League and Emirates FA Cup, the deal includes Japan’s J.League and America’s National Women’s Soccer League. Soccer fans will also be able to enjoy the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 competition, which kicks-off in Switzerland on Thursday, 3 July.

Optus said it is now is working in close partnership with Nine to support the transition and ensure continuity for football fans as they migrate from Optus Sport to Stan. 

Representatives from Stan’s commercial team have been contacted by The Shout for details regarding pricing for venues. At this stage commercial pricing for existing and new customers is still currently under review and further updates are expected to be available within the coming weeks.
