The Night Time Industries Association (NTIA) has announced the appointment of Enterprise Professor Jane Burns as its new Chair.

In announcing the appointment, the NTIA described Burns as a nationally recognised leader with more than 20 years’ experience across government, research, industry and social enterprise.

The announcement added: “She brings a deep commitment to innovation, inclusion and wellbeing, having held CEO and board roles across mental health, social impact and cultural sectors. She is the founder of InnoWell and the Young and Well CRC, and has raised over $200 million in funding to drive large-scale impact.”

NTIA CEO, Mick Gibb, said: “We’re excited to have her leadership as we continue to be a voice for night-time industries.”

Speaking about her appointment, Burns added: “I’m thrilled to join the NTIA as Chair at such a pivotal time for Australia’s night-time economy. Throughout my career, I’ve worked across sectors to drive social impact, and what excites me about the NTIA is its strong, independent voice and deep connection to the industries that shape our nights—hospitality, culture, live performance, arts, retail and more.

“As Chair, I’m committed to helping the NTIA grow its influence, support members, and champion a night-time economy that’s safe, diverse and thriving. I look forward to connecting with many of you in the months ahead.”

Burns’ appointment follows an open application process led by the NTIA Board Nominations Committee to align to its strategy and future governance needs.
