DrinkWise has announced the appointment of Cath Peachey as its new chief executive officer.
Peachey is a former Federal Government senior executive who has worked in a range of public health policy areas, including the Department of Health and Ageing and the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
Most recently, she was responsible for the development and implementation of national preventative health policies and COAG agreed programs aimed at promoting good nutrition and healthy lifestyles.
This followed other senior roles in relation to illicit drugs, alcohol, tobacco, mental health and suicide prevention.
Peachey replaces Chris Watters as the new CEO of DrinkWise.
Watters resigned from the position in October 2009 after less than a year in the job, citing family reasons, having replaced Dr Mike McAvoy in December, 2008.
