On Wednesday 29 May, the Prosecco DOC Drinks & Talks event was held at Watersedge at Campbell’s Stores at The Rocks, Sydney as a celebration of Italian culture and lifestyle.
Hosted by The Consortium of Prosecco DOC in collaboration with the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Australia, the event showcased a selection of Prosecco DOC from eight distinguished Italian wineries against the vibrant backdrop of VIVID Sydney.
Presented by dedicated Italian sommelier Daniel Marcella, the wineries featured in the event included Maosttina, Ruggeri, La Cantina Pizzolato, Isola Augusta, BiancaVigna, Brilla, Torresella and Viticoltori Ponte.
Attendees were encouraged to experience the essence of ‘Italian Genio’, learning about the distinctive attributes that define excellence for Prosecco DOC and Italian brands. While enjoying the selection of Prosecco DOC, attendees were educated about the importance of authenticity, innovative philosophies and timeless aesthetics.
“One thing that I always love to say is that Italian wines have something a little bit extra compared to any other wine. It’s an extra level of culture. When we speak about La Dolce Vita, we’re speaking about belonging to Italy. When you drink a glass of Prosecco, it’s not just to taste it. You need to close your eyes and travel to Italy with your senses,” Marcella said.
The event was led by Promotional Department Manager of the Consortium Tanja Barattin, TV Chef Luca Ciano, General Manager for Ducati Australia Sergi Canovas, Home Business Director for Technogym Giulio Gasperini and Designer and Stylist Emma Elizabeth.
Portraying the sophistication of the Italian lifestyle, several Italian brands presented at the event and demonstrated the profound impact that Italian lifestyle brands have had on worldwide perceptions, reflecting their rich heritage, authenticity and connection to the territory of origin.
Campari Group and Sanpellegrino sponsored an open bar on the evening, complemented by authentic Italian cuisine, lively music, and ‘Made in Italy’ activations featuring Technogym, Smeg, Euroluce, Stylecraft and Illy Coffee, while Australian organisation SixthSense Experiences created an immersive light experience.
