Owner of Xanadu, Yering Station and Mount Langi Ghiran, Rathbone Wine Group, has selected Domaine Wine Shippers (DWS) as its distributor in Western Australia.
The new partnership will come into effect from August 1 and is an extension of the companies’ existing agreements in South Australia.
Darren Rathbone, Rathbone Wine Group CEO, said the decision made sense for both parties, commenting: “As the demand continues to grow for our brands in Western Australia, the move to Domaine Wine Shippers was an obvious choice, given our shared ambition in supporting both our On Premise and Independent Retail customers.”
These sentiments were echoed by Melinda Steel, DWS CEO.
“The exciting partnership is a celebration of our shared family values and commitment toward growth for our businesses,” Steel said.
“Our family has a close connection with Western Australia, where my father, Gary Steel, and founder of DWS was born and raised. We take pride in partnering with family wineries that are the best in their regions and share our passion to deliver value for money wines to our customers.”
For WA customers, Rathbone’s products join DWS’s domestic portfolio of over 25 vineyards, and imported brands including Billecart-Salmon Champagne and Domaine de Vogue Burgundy.
On the East Coast, Rathbone’s products are distributed by The Wine Company, a subsidiary of the Tahbilk group.
