Single malt Scotch whisky Glenfiddich has swept the board at both the Scotch Whisky Masters 2013 and the International Spirits Challenge.
Now in its 6th year, this year's Scotch Whisky Masters (results here) was the largest ever with a record 160 entries. Glenfiddich won a staggering 14 medals, including three Masters and eight Gold medals.
A total of 25 whiskies were awarded in the Speyside Single Malt category. With 11 awards in this category, Glenfiddich's win is unprecedented in its history and significantly more than any other distillery.
"In addition, the highly coveted Master's Award was also bestowed on the Glenfiddich 15 Year Old, Glenfiddich Ultimate 38 Year Old and Glenfiddich 125th Anniversary Edition in recognition of outstanding examples of whisky-making," the distiller said.
At the International Spirits Challenge (results here), Glenfiddich won 14 awards in total, including eight gold medals, which went to awarded to the Glenfiddich 12 Year Old, Glenfiddich 18 Year Old, Glenfiddich 30 Year Old, Glenfiddich 40 Year Old, Glenfiddich Age of Discovery Madeira Cask Finish, Glenfiddich Age of Discovery Bourbon Cask Reserve, Glenfiddich 125th Anniversary Edition and Glenfiddich Ultimate 38 Year Old.
Glenfiddich malt master, Brian Kinsman said: "These esteemed awards are a tribute to the lengths we go to at Glenfiddich to make truly exquisite whisky. Our founder, William Grant, would be truly honoured that his vision to 'create the best dram in the valley' is being fulfilled."
