Rum cream liqueur RumChata, which has become hugely popular in the US, is now available in Australia.
The liqueur is made from five times distilled Caribbean rum, real dairy cream, cinnamon, vanilla and a mix of other spices from around the world. It will be exclusively distributed by Artisan Handcrafted.
Georgina Wright, sales director of Artisan Handcrafted, said: “We are very happy to welcome RumChata to the portfolio.”
Since its launch in 2009, RumChata's popularity in the US has soared, with sales reaching 600,000 cases in the 2015 calendar year alone.
Tom Maas, RumChata founder and master blender, added: “We are thrilled with the response already to RumChata by the trade and consumers in Australia.
"RumChata has been a huge success story in the US and we believe Artisan Handcrafted has the brand well positioned to expand its success throughout Australia."
More than 20 million bottles of RumChata have been shipped since launching in 2009 and it is now available in 26 countries, US territories and business segments. RumChata was recently named one of the top 20 beverage alcohol product launches in the past 25 years by Cheers Magazine.
The liqueur is available in all states and territories in Australia through NILWA members and in retail in First Choice and Vintage Cellars, with an average retail price of $32.
