This August Melbourne cocktail bar The Everleigh will unveil its new venue, named Heartbreaker, in the Melbourne CBD.
In a departure from The Everleigh’s 1920s speakeasy style, Heartbreaker instead will riff on the “seedy, sexy glamour” of the “timeless drinking dens of Los Angeles”.
Following on from the success of his collaborative projects – namely The Everleigh Bottling Co. and The Classic Cocktail Book Club – The Everleigh’s Michael Madrusan has set up shop with Sebastian Reaburn, of other classic Melbourne cocktail spots 1806 and Vue de Monde, to create a “classic good-time bar” that will have late food service and in their own words will be “somewhere to drink after The Everleigh calls last orders”.
The bar will feature both local and American craft beers on tap, while the spirits selection will sway heavily in the direction of tequila, mezcal and whiskey.
In a move away from the classy crystal cocktail service of The Everleigh, Heartbreaker will feature Martinis, Old Fashioneds, Negronis and Manhattans straight from the bottle – care of The Everleigh Bottling Co.
A pool table and a retro jukebox round out the entertainment offering at the bar.
