The hospitality group has engaged an agency talent for the role.
Solotel has appointed Dan Lacaze as its first Group Marketing Director, who will oversee the group’s digital, customer and marketing capability across the company’s 30 venues.
Lacaze comes from an agency background, and comes to the hospitality giant from BMF where he was client services director, coordinating a staff of 28 people. His clients included Aldi, Sportsbet and the A-League.
Throughout his career Lacaze has worked on award-winning campaigns such as ‘Share a Coke’ activations for Coca-Cola, ‘You’ve Gotta Have a Team’ for the A-League, and the ‘Roid in Android’ campaign for Sportsbet that received attention worldwide.
“I’m really excited with this new opportunity as I believe Solotel are fundamentally in the entertainment business. When I met owners Matt Moran and Bruce Solomon, I was struck by their warmth, passion, and entrepreneurialism. I’m thrilled to be given this opportunity to steward their portfolio of wonderfully iconic brands,” said Lacaze.
COO Justine Baker welcomed Lacaze, who immediately joins the group’s Executive leadership team.
“We are most proud of the diversity of our people at Solotel, and Dan adds a unique new creative flavour to the mix. We made a decision to upskill our team, and re-focus on our customers. We’re really looking forward to Dan joining the family at such an exciting time.”
The group is launching new venues this year, including a freestanding three-story site in Sydney’s Barangaroo that will house a new bar, Matt Moran restaurant and rooftop cocktail lounge; plus a two-storey pub and café in a heritage-listed site in South Bank, Brisbane.
