Independently-owned liquor distributor Southtrade International has expanded its portfolio to include the Champagne brand, Armand de Brignac.

Known as the ‘Ace of Spades’, due to the shaped pewter labels on the gold-plated bottles, it has become the favoured toast for many celebrities abroad, including Will Smith, Diana Ross, George Clooney and power-couple, Jay Z and Beyonce.

Southtrade director, Tony Stubley, said that the Champagne suited Southrade’s portfolio perfectly.

“Other luxury brands in our portfolio have become firmly established in the repertoire of discerning drinkers,” he said. “Armand de Brignac has been highly acclaimed by the best connoisseurs in the world and we expect the success it has achieved internationally will be repeated here.”

Produced by the award-winning Cattier family, owners of Champagne vineyards since 1763 and rated “Excellent” in Parker’s Guide of Fine Wines, Armand de Brignac is a classic example of a prestige cuvee and comes from the tiny village of Chigny-les-Roses.
