Scotch whisky brand Bruichladdich has appointed SouthTrade International as its exclusive importer to Australia.
Initially SouthTrade will be launching Bruichladdich Rocks, 10 year old, Organic, Laddie Classic, Black Art 22 year old, and The Botanist Gin which is also crafted from native Islay botanicals.
Bruichladdich produces natural whisky – neither coloured nor chill-filtered, and Islay bottled – which the distiller says provides ultimate provenance, traceability and authenticity.
A total of 750,000 litres are distilled annually from exclusively Scottish barley uniquely sourced from 28 farms, roughly half organically and biodynamically grown, and half grown on the Isle of Islay itself for the first time in centuries.
SouthTrade director and principal Tony Stubley said Bruichladdich is "100 per cent Islay" and is a perfect fit with the distributor's existing portfolio.
"From barley to barrel to bottle this is Islay single malt from the Hebridean Island made by local people. Nothing else can capture the character of this iconic area," he said.
