Wine Australia has a large pavilion at the Vinexpo 2023, held in Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands between 23-25 of May.
It’s the first time the trade expo, described by Wine Australia as ‘the most influential wine trade fair for wine and spirits professionals in the Asia-Pacific region’, has come to Singapore.
Wineries from around the country will have the opportunity to showcase their wares to more than 8,000 influential trade visitors and buyers from the Asian Pacific region.
While products and companies from 35 different countries will be exhibiting, there are only eight Pavilions: Austria, Australia, France, Singapore (who have two), the USA, Argentina and Chile.
This means that Australian wine will be taking pride of place at Vinexpo 2023, following up from its ‘Country of Honour’ exhibit in 2018 (the last time Vinexpo was held).
In terms of sheer numbers, the Australian contingent of 74 companies is third only behind Italy’s 150 and France’s 154 wineries in attendance.
General Manager of Marketing at Wine Australia Paul Turale said Australian producers are excited to be back in market showcasing what they’ve been up to over the past few years.
“This year’s Australian wine pavilion lineup will be diverse and intriguing, with a strong focus on sustainability. We want trade to meet the artisans behind the labels,” Turale said.
And there’s a healthy mix of big-name producers, such as Angove Family Winemakers and De Bortoli, and smaller independent wineries such as Ministry of Clouds and Levrier Wines By Jo Irvine.
“We’ll have over 70 exhibitors from 30 regions, with more than 1000 uniquely crafted wines to taste. And there’ll be four regional bars showcasing some additional wines from other producers in their regions: Riverland, McLaren Vale, Yarra Valley and Western Australia,” Turale continued.
