Marina Bay Sands, where Vinexpo Asia 2023 is being hosted.

Vinexpo Asia is back after a four year absence, arriving in Singapore for a three-day exhibition on 23 May. Rodolphe Lameyse, CEO of organisers, Vinexposium, highlights the unique opportunities the trade show offers.

“Vinexpo has a presence in the region spanning over 20 years, with the first Vinexpo Asia held in Hong Kong in 1998, giving the event genuine credentials,” Lameyse says.

“It is now a major strategic event that is vital for all global stakeholders, bringing together buyers, importers and sommeliers from the growth markets across Asia.”

Singapore itself brings a wealth of benefits for Australian businesses, as Lameyse highlights.

“Its strategic location makes it a hub of regional and global trade and its business model revolves, among other things, around a very open-minded approach to international trade,” the CEO says.

“Our desire to be part of this movement and to benefit from this dynamic sales environment is fully understood by our customers. Singapore was the best opportunity we could offer them in 2023, at a key time in returning to Asia.”

Singapore is the world’s second largest commercial port, and an attractive stand-alone market. The Singaporean beverage alcohol industry expected to record a CAGR of 3.8 per cent between 2021-2026 according to IWSR-Vinoexposium research. The city state is also the most buoyant region for the premium segment in Asia, with the category accounting for 42 per cent of sales.

Singapore is the world’s second largest commercial port and a key gateway to Asian markets.

Moreover, the city is renowned for its high-quality F&B scene, with the ‘Little Red Dot’ now home to some of the world’s finest bars.

Given the vital importance of the South-East Asian and South Korean markets to Australian exporters, Vinexpo Asia 2023 will provide some excellent opportunities for exhibitions to showcase their wares to key decision-makers.

Organisers are expecting 8,000 visitors to attend from 41 countries. China, South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand and Vietnam are expected to provide the largest number of visitors.

And there are specific initiatives in place to help hosting buyers have a successful show.

“We provide a CLUB programme with a host of privileges and services granted to the largest buyers. We also implement solutions to facilitate attendance by very specific buyers from a selection of countries,” Lameyse explains.

“For Vinexpo Asia, this is true of Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, China, South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, the Middle Easter and India.”

More details about the CLUB programme can be found here.

Finally, the CEO believes the show will offer a great chance to make new connections and build professional networks.

“Vinexpo Asia 2023 is an even where people will be able to reunite. It’s an amazing opportunity to see each other and get acquainted again!”
