Squealing Pig is launching a new Summer of Love campaign and as part of being the official wine of Sydney WorldPride is launching nine new labels on its Rosé to celebrate the colourful spectrums of love, sexual orientation and gender identity.
As official wine partner for both the Australian Open and Sydney WorldPride the Squealing Pig Summer of Love kicks off today and will run until mid-March.
Squealing Pig is switching out the labels on every 750ml bottle of Rosé across the country with nine limited-edition Pride Labels. Every case of 750ml Squealing Pig Rosé ordered across Australia will come with a random selection of the labels inside. Featuring cheeky rhymes that celebrate every letter of the LGBTQIA+ acronym and allies, Rosé lovers can toast to a summer of love, pride and diversity with their mates.
Broadcaster and entertainer Brihony Dawson, and stylist and drag entertainer Rian Difuntorum (Aysha Buffet) are leading the campaign and will kick things off with ‘Love’ a piece of video content that debuts today, the opening day of the Australian Open.
Kaushik Lal, from Squealing Pig said: “At Squealing Pig, we’re known for our inclusive and cheeky approach to the complex world of wine, a category that a lot of people find confusing and stuffy. But we are also committed to channeling our playfulness and positivity in support of inclusion and diversity on a much broader level,” he says.
“We have been working closely with a range of representatives of the nine communities – both from the Squealing Pig team and externally – to bring our Pride Labels and Summer of Love to life so that we can shine a spotlight on the rainbow community in a meaningful way that remains true to Squealing Pig.
“So, here’s to celebrating the lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer or non-binary, transgender, intersex, asexual, pansexual and other gender-diverse communities over a refreshing glass of rosé this summer.”
Dawson added: “I’ve been a fan of Squealing Pig for a while now and had a ball skydiving with them during last year’s [Sydney Gay and Lesbian] Mardi Gras. That’s when they showed me the first versions of their Pride Labels – which at the time were stickers in a handful of Sydney venues that you could put on your favourite bottle of Squealing Pig.
“Good wine is shared with great friends over interesting conversation and Squealing Pig’s Summer of Love campaign and the new Pride Labels showcase the beautiful diversity of the queer community in a fun, accessible way. As a proud non-binary person, it’s refreshing to be part of a campaign that embraces love and identity in all its glorious forms.”
Launching today, Squealing Pig Pride Labels will be stocked at leading liquor stores and venues nationally, replacing existing Squealing Pig Rosé bottles until the end of March (or until stocks run out).
