Former Fever-Tree MD Andy Gaunt will step into the role of CEO at Tasmanian distillery Sullivans Cove.

Gaunt is an industry stalwart, having worked in sales, marketing and business development across the world, including managing Johnny Walker’s luxury portfolio for Diageo in APAC.

Most recently he spent the last decade building the Fever-Tree business across ANZ and Asia.

“I am honoured to have the opportunity to join the incredible team and business that is Sullivans Cove, a whisky brand I have long admired,” Gaunt said.

“Sullivans Cove is Australia’s most decorated whisky brand and arguably the brand that brought the quality of Australian distilling to the world’s attention.

“I am excited to be part of the next phase of the brand’s life as we look to unleash the full potential of Sullivans Cove following the recent investment in the refurbishment of the distillery and visitor experience, which coincided with the recent 30th anniversary celebrations.”

At the end of 2024, the distillery unveiled its new $14m refurbished facility in Hobart which has the ability to double the production output.

Sullivans Cove MD, Adam Sable, is looking to Gaunt to lead the brand through its next phase.

“In addition to his skill set and experience, he embodies the Sullivans Cove ethos and shared values, “ Sable said.

Sullivans Cove had some amazing results at the recent World Whisky Awards earlier this year. The distillery was awarded nine medals in total, including CWG for Old & Rare American Oak Second Fill 18 Years Old.

It was also recognised by the Icons of Whisky Awards in January, winning Visitor Attraction Team of the Year, Marketing Team of the Year, Campaign Innovator of the Year and Sales Team of the Year, plus being named highly commended in Distillery Manager of the Year, Master Distiller/Master Blender of the Year, Visitor Attraction Manager of the Year, and Brand Ambassador of the Year (World Whisky).
