WA-based beer brand Swan has announced the comeback of its popular Swan Gold beer. Following countless consumer requests, Swan Gold will return exclusively to WA pubs almost two decades since it was last brewed in 2003.
Sydney based beverage company Lion is proud to be bringing the nostalgic beverage back, which first commenced production in 1978. Lion, whose origin dates back more than 180 years, describes the beer as a “crisper than crisp, easy drinking, full flavoured mid strength lager with all the beloved Swan hallmarks that WA drinkers love.”
The announcement follows last years shift of Swan Draught brewing back to WA at Little Creatures Brewery in Fremantle, almost ten years after its production was relocated to South Australia.
Danny Connolly, WA field sales director for Lion, commented on the return of the old favourite.
“Swan is synonymous with WA, but for too long drinkers in WA have only been able to enjoy a pint of Swan Draught. Lion is proud to bring back this icon of Western Australian brewing, almost 20 years after it disappeared from pubs.
“Currently stocked in over 120 venues across WA, Swan Gold is being rolled out in an additional 20 venues per week.
“With over 30 thousand litres sold to date, Swan Gold is proving once again that Western Australians love Swan beer in all its forms. It’s great to be able to introduce a new generation of drinkers to this iconic WA beer.
Swan Gold joins a strong line up of beers in Lion’s portfolio, including XXXX, Little Creatures, James Squire, Stone & Wood, Tooheys and Hahn.
Just came to the Globe sport bar Mandurah and having a Swan Gold pint – magnificent! – Hopefully this pub continue to stock this fantastic beer as it has the taste of an old fashioned lager- I do remember drinking this particular beer in the 8O’ – Cheers 🍻
