Balmain Pub Group has opened opened its third venue, The Swanson Hotel in Sydney's inner west.
Formerly the Kurrajong Hotel, the pub was acquired at the beginning of this year and refurbished by the group, best known for the Riverview Hotel in Birchgrove and Balmain Hotel in Balmain.
The hotel will open a restaurant upstairs under former AHA chef of the year, Brad Sloane of the Riverview Hotel.
Following the lead of the popular Riverview Hotel, the focus of The Swanson Hotel will be on simple clean food, with big flavours and a Mediterranean influence.
The restaurant will seat 80 people and includes a private dining room and lounge bar.
The downstairs part of the pub will feature more casual style booth seating and will offer simple bar fare such as burgers, pies and steak.
The drinks offer will include beers from local outfit Young Henrys as well as a mix of traditional and boutique wine and spirits.
Overlooking the leafy Harry Noble Park, the new look venue has a "colonial British West Indies-inspired interior" featuring floral bright Timorous Beasties wallpaper, a handcrafted elegant marble bar and a feature fireplace.
