The World’s 50 Best Bars have been announced for 2015, with four Australian bars making the cut this year.
The Baxter Inn (pictured) claimed sixth position, the Black Pearl took home 10th spot, The Everleigh landed 25th, and Bulletin Place rounded out the Aussies in 28th.
The Baxter Inn also took out the title of Best Australasian Bar in the regional awards and the Black Pearl had the honour of being the Highest Climber – jumping the largest number of rankings from the 2014 results.
Interestingly this year’s top three bars remained the same, with Artesian in London again taking the top spot. That makes it four years in a row for the renowned bar, which is located inside the Langham Hotel.
The World’s 50 Best Bars editor Hamish Smith noted that “there’s probably no dramatic, low-toned Hollywood-voiceover manner of saying: ‘This year the top three stayed the same’.”
However he went on to note that “There’s something reassuring about these steadfast standards and stubbornness to fall to the fads that could otherwise erode the industry’s progression.”
