Taylors Wines has claimed a top prize at the B&T Awards, having been named as the 2016 Marketing Team of the Year.
It is the second time the company has won the award, after first receiving the trophy in 2012 and comes on the back of being named as Marketing Team of the Year in the Marketing in Excellence Awards, held by the Australian Marketing Institute.
Speaking after the B&T win, Taylors Chief Marketing Officer Cameron Crowley said: “We are incredibly proud to celebrate another outstanding award for our talented marketing team. The Taylors team culture is one that inspires creativity and innovation, and with such a talented and diverse team of specialists, we’ve shown that a strong idea can really make an impact on the bottom line.”
The company was praised for its combination of creativity and innovation, which helped to increased bottom-line business results. In particular for the ‘Live by Better Degrees’ campaign which sought to inform consumers about wine temperatures and which drove a double-digit percentage increase in sales.
The company said that it is planning a refresh of the campaign this summer, reminding consumers of the correct temperatures for drinking wine. The idea of drinking red wine at room temperature came from colder drawing rooms of medieval France; so Taylors added temperature sensors to the back of its bottles to show consumers the ideal drinking temperature.
The company said that the campaign has proved so successful in Australia that there has been interest from international markets to roll it out further.
