A man wearing black clothing and sunglasses entered the Hotel Sarina south of Mackay on Sunday night and         
produced a knife. He demanded cash and fled through the rear exit.

A large amount of alcohol was stolen during a break in at the Raceview Tavern’s bottle shop on Friday morning. The offenders are believed to be a group of men and women in their late teens to early twenties.

A man in a balaclava armed with a gun entered a Bottle Mart at the Boronia Heights Shopping Village and demanded cash from an attendant. He then fled in a maroon Mitsubishi Magna driven by a female. The attendant and a number of customers attempted to pursue the fleeing pair but broke pursuit when the man opened his door and fired at the group. The man is described as 175cm tall with a black goatee and broad shoulders.

Two men were charged with theft on Tuesday following an investigation into a large sum of money that went missing from the main safe at the Kings Beach Tavern. The money was noticed missing from a secure area of the hotel by the manager when he arrived for work on Monday.

Four men armed with one firearm entered the Gladesville Bowling and Sports Club on Monday night and, after threatening several people, unsuccessfully attempted to remove an ATM. The group then stole a sum of cash before fleeing in a vehicle that crashed into another vehicle during a police pursuit. Three men were arrested while the fourth escaped on foot.  

Three men armed with a firearm entered a hotel in North Sydney on Monday night and demanded a sum of money before fleeing the scene. Police are seeking a silver Audi station wagon they believe was used during the robbery.

Police have released CCTV images to locate a man wanted in connection with the armed robbery of a betting agency in Rohini Street, Turramurra, on the 23rd of December. The man is described as 178cm tall, European in appearance and was dressed in white joggers and dark tracksuit pants. A man fitting his description was seen near a betting agency in Mona Vale Road, St Ives, two hours after the robbery.


Four men wearing balaclavas—two armed with shotguns, one with a handgun and one with a glass bottle—entered a licensed premises on Merrylands Road, Greystanes, at 11am Tuesday morning and threatened staff. After taking a sum of cash they fled the scene in a silver or beige hatchback and were last heading toward the Cumberland Highway.

Retired champion jump jockey, Jamie Evans, was arrested on Saturday after refusing to pay an $85 bill for vodka shots and red wine he and a companion consumed at a Melbourne establishment on Saturday. He was released on bail and was again arrested on Sunday after refusing to pay for $130 worth of vodka and wine he consumer at another establishment. Evans appeared at Melbourne Magistrates Court this week and pleaded guilty to theft, public drunkenness and giving a false name to police after identifying himself as Channel 9 entertainment reporter Richard Wilkins. Evans’ attorney told the court his client was addicted to alcohol and has no memory of the events. He was fined $800.
