Tyrrell's Wines has released Part & Parcel, a new premium blended white wine crafted from its Hunter Valley vineyards.
Part & Parcel is a blend of Semillon (74 per cent), Chardonnay (12 per cent), Gewürztraminer (10 per cent) and Verdelho (four per cent).
Bruce Tyrrell said the new release Part & Parcel captures the reemerging trend of the great white blend, which has already hit the US and European markets and is gathering momentum in Australia.
"The world of wine has always moved in cycles and is always seeking the next exciting trend. I believe this is the reinvention of the great white blend.
"The concept for Part & Parcel was to leverage everything that Tyrrell's has to offer… our historic vineyards, range of varieties and innovative winemaking techniques… to create a white of structure and texture, interest and difference, but in the end, an unquestionable great wine to drink.
"This blended white wine is truly unique, a product that only someone with the experience [30 plus years] and expertise of our head winemaker, Spin [Andrew Spinaze], can create. He is a modern version of the alchemist."
Part & Parcel is available through Tyrrell's and a small selection of premium fine dining outlets for RRP $25.
Tasting notes: The wine is bright, young, fresh and gently fragrant with lifted aromatic expression. Created to be a textural and flavoursome wine showing complexity and structure, the palate has a fleshy richness and generosity that is opulent, intense and moreish. The palate flavours linger into a gentle soft citrus finish. A seriously sophisticated and comfortable wine to enjoy.
