Vintage Cellars is looking to break a Guinness World Record at the Sydney Opera House later this month for the largest ever Champagne tasting.
The current world record for the World’s Largest Champagne tasting was set in Sweden in November 2015 with 696 people involved.
Vintage Cellars as the exclusive retail partner of the record attempt, in conjunction with Moët & Chandon, is expecting over 700 ‘tasters’ to assemble for World Champagne Day from 12.30pm at the Sydney Opera House on Friday 20 October.
The event, to be hosted by Champagne expert Tyson Stelzer and media personality and host of Channel 9’s Today show, Lisa Wilkinson, will see several types of Champagne on offer including Moët & Chandon Imperial, Rosé Imperial and Grand Vintage 2008.
“Sydney is set to sparkle at this exciting event and we can’t wait to hear the celebratory pop of champagne bottles as our guests taste Moët & Chandon’s vintage Champagnes and experience the buzz of breaking a world record,” said Vintage Cellars, head of marketing, Jon Yarnall.
“We are thrilled to be celebrating World Champagne Day with our esteemed partners, Sydney Opera House and Vintage Cellars. This date is the perfect occasion to attempt to break the Guinness World Record of the World’s Largest Champagne Tasting with our valued customers and guests,” said Moët Hennessy Australia, senior marketing manager, Kirsty Brown.
All guests who attend the record attempt will receive a Vintage Cellars gift voucher to spend on the Moët & Chandon range in store.
Tickets to the event are available through the Sydney Opera House.
