Vok Beverages has announced the launch of Real McCoy, which is entering the flavoured whiskey category with two flavours: Salted Caramel and Buttered Popcorn.
The flavoured whiskey category is enjoying year-on-year growth and has been led by significant growth by global players and Vok is hoping to drive momentum with its innovative and dynamic Real McCoy brand.
Vok said the Real McCoy is targeting the generation of drinkers that are seeking flavour-led experiences and premium, story-driven brands.
“Flavoured whiskey is no longer a trend — it’s an established, fast-growing category with enormous commercial potential,” said Johann Einarson, Brand Manager at Vok Beverages.
“With Real McCoy, we’ve created a product that not only taps into this demand but elevates the offering with craft, clarity and attitude. It’s accessible yet premium, highly versatile, and unapologetically bold — everything the new whiskey consumer is looking for.”
The two new flavours are Salted Caramel, which tasting notes describe as “silky and indulgent with notes of creamy vanilla, toasted caramel and sea salt, rounded out by layers of butterscotch and soft oak”.
The Buttered Popcorn tasting notes say, “a playful yet refined flavour profile with rich notes of freshly popped popcorn, vanilla, and caramel. The finish is smooth and warming with subtle toasted oak”.
“Real McCoy is a commercially-minded product built for today’s market — high-impact flavour innovation, competitive price point, and genuine versatility across retail and on-premise. It’s exactly what the category has been calling for,” Einarson added.
Both flavours are at 30 per cent ABV and have a $55 RRP for 700ml and $8 RRP for 50ml. The brand is inspired by prohibition-era whiskey runner Bill McCoy, and is available now to independent retailers across the country.
