In line with the brand's sponsorship of the National Rugby League (NRL), Wild Turkey Bourbon has signed three new brand ambassadors for the 2015 season.
Two NRL icons, Nathan Hindmarsh and Petero Civoniceva, along with AFL great Brad Johnson, are at the forefront of the Wild Turkey national digital campaign, which is being launched prior to the first state of origin match. The ex-players will also be involved in on- and off-premise activations around Australia.
Wild Turkey Bourbon’s Marketing Director, Nicole Stanners, believes that the players are closely aligned with the brand’s traits, as well as being legends in their own right.
“[They] embody Wild Turkey Bourbon’s credentials such as its authenticity, passion and spirit. Throughout their playing careers, all were bold and daring on the field yet exhibited utmost humility off the field,” says Stanners.
She adds that the former sportsmen align with Wild Turkey’s latest advertising campaign, “What are you bringing to the table?”, a campaign that prompts drinkers to evaluate both their life experiences and their choice of bourbon.
The brand hopes to increase awareness throughout the season, through both NRL-centric, and non-traditional NRL areas.
“Partnering with both Nathan and Petero further supports Wild Turkey Bourbon’s NRL sponsorship,” she says. “Partnering with Brad will allow the brand to increase awareness and broaden its appeal in non-NRL states. We are excited Nathan, Petero and Brad have joined our team and look forward to working with them throughout the 2015 footy season.”
