Continuing the expansion of its spirits portfolio, William Grant & Sons has announced the launch of the award-winning Milagro Tequila into the Australian market.
Released this month, Milagro (which means "miracle" in Spanish) will be available initially in high-end bars, Mexican restaurants and selected bottle shops nation-wide.
Milagro Tequila will be launched in three variants in Australia, super premium Silver (pictured below right) and Reposado varieties, and an ultra-premium Select Barrel Reserve Añejo (pictured left).
Milagro's arrival follows the recent addition of Beluga Noble Russian Vodka to William Grant's Australian portfolio, as well as new cask editions of its eponymous blended Scotch whisky.
All Milagro Tequilas are handcrafted in small batches from100 per cent blue agave grown in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. Using clay ovens, Milagro slow roasts the agave six times longer than most competitive brands, and then follows with a triple distillation process.
Each bottle is handcrafted by Mexican glass artisans, with the packaging for the Select Barrel Reserve Añejo inspired by the agave plant, with each cystal bottle hand-blown and individually numbered.
Milagro Reposado recently won the IWSR Tequila Trophy at the 2011 International Wine and Spirits Challenge. It was also awarded a Gold 'Best in Class' along with the Milagro Select Barrel Reserve Añejo. Milagro Silver was awarded the 'Best of the 100 per cent Agave tequilas' at the 2011 Los Angeles International Wine and Spirit Competition while the Reposado won 'Best of Category' at the same competition.
Milagro Silver will retail at around $65, Milagro Reposado at around $75 and Milagro Select Barrel Reserve Añejo retailing at around $150.
