The second instalment of the William Grant & Sons Rare Cask Reserve Collection has been launched and will only be available for purchase in Australia.
The Rare Cask Collection has been created by William Grant & Sons’ master blender Brian Kinsman, using casks from the Grant family’s private collection as well as those from closed and “ghosted” distilleries. The Cruinnich is the latest offering from this collection, which is a rare and one-off expression.
There are just 4,900 bottles of the Cruinnich and all will be available at Dan Murphy stores from Saturday, 16 May.
The Cruinnich was created after five winners of a Dan Murphy competition travelled to Dufftown in Scotland to meet with Kinsman. The team with Kinsman then created the 21-Year-Old Rare Cask Reserve, which is described as “a whisky specifically made for the Australian palate”.
The Cruinnich will be on sale nationally from 16 May at an ABV of 42 per cent and an RRP of $180.
