Several wine companies have announced new appointments to their sales teams in recent weeks.
Accolade Wines has named Chris Davis as its new national account manager, with a key focus on on-premise accounts.
Davis' on-premise experience began in the United Kingdom more than 14 years ago after he graduated from hospitality management school and went on to open and manage restaurants for a national chain.
More recently, Davis spent six years working in the Australian wine market for Treasury Wine Estates where he held the position of key account manager – on-premise.
Meanwhile, Terroir Selections has welcomed Nicholas Gibson to its Sydney sales team.
Gibson has been involved in the Sydney liquor trade for more than 20 years, gathering a wealth of experience including an excellent knowledge of fine wine.
Gibson will be in charge of Terroir Selections entire portfolio of domestic and imported wines for the greater Sydney on and off-premise markets, with a strong focus on Tapanappa and Terre à Terre wines, as well as new imports including Chanson from France and Ceretto from Italy.
Additionally, Hungerford Hill has appointed Christopher Balfour as its new national sales manager.
Balfour has extensive experience in the wine and spirits industry, starting with his family's liquor store in Adelaide, moving to Penfolds as a sales rep, then to Remy Martin, Maxxium and then Suntory in sales management roles, based in Sydney.
In these positions he has worked with reputable brands such as Charles Heidsieck, Piper Heidsieck and Blue Pyrenees. In his new role at Hungerford Hill, Balfour will be based in Sydney and will be responsible for growing the winery’s wholesale sales throughout Australia.
