Cementing Australia’s position as one of the fastest growing global markets for Argentine wines, winemakers and representatives from more than 25 Argentinian wineries will visit Sydney on Monday November 16th to showcase their best wines to the Australian trade.
Following successful events already hosted in New York and London, Wines of Argentina present Cambalache – One Day in Argentina. This unique event will feature wines from Salta to Patagonia, passing through La Rioja, San Juan and Mendoza on the way.
Borrowing it’s name from a famous Tango song and marking a departure from typical wine trade events, “Cambalache” epitomises the heart and soul of the Argentina – just as the country’s flourishing wine industry does – and gives guests the chance to not only sample the wines but also get a taste for the character and warmth of the country.
“The response we’ve had from wineries and local importers to this event has been incredible – finally making what will be one of the largest tastings of Argentine wine anywhere in the world in 2015!” says Andrew Maidment, Head of Europe and Asia at
Wines of Argentina. “Wine isn’t just about slurping and spitting, it’s about getting a taste for the culture of the country and Cambalache will bring a little piece of Argentina to Sydney, with an event that fully reflects the vibrancy and energy present in our wine scene today”
Cambalache – One day in Argentina will be held at Pier One Sydney Harbour in Walsh Bay on Monday 16 November from 1pm until 5pm. Featuring new wineries to the Australian market along with representatives from local importers, Argentine culture will be at its finest including exclusive tastings of over 200 wines, a traditional ‘Asado’ (BBQ) lunch, live music, tango dancers and master classes.
