Specialist Sydney whisky retailer World of Whisky has now begun to sell directly to Sydney bars, and has appointed Dan Woolley – formerly of the Riversdale Group – as an ambassador for the store.
Besides stocking some of the rarest and premium whiskies in the country, including many products that are unavailable elsewhere, World of Whisky also has exclusive distribution rights for several brands including Tullibardine, Glen Glassaugh, Isle of Arran, and Gordon & MacPhail – one of the biggest independent bottlers in Scotland.
The store stocks over 300 different expressions from distilleries across the globe and at any time there are over 70 bottles available for customers to sample in the store, which has a large tasting table as its centrepiece.
Apart from working in the store, Woolley's role also includes visiting bars across Sydney to conducted masterclasses for bar staff and showcase some of the finer drops available through the store.
"We are now wholesaling whisky to bars in Sydney, and we will be expanding this to Melbourne and Brisbane soon. But people can also order from us online," Woolley said.
