A Sydney bartender will attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the most mojitos made in an hour by an individual in No Vacancy’s Mojito Motel Challenge sponsored by Bacardi and Uber Bar Tools.
Jonathan Coates' record attempt at No Vacancy will require 126 litres of Bacardi Superior Rum, 75 litres of soda water, 160 kilos of limes, 100 kilos of ice and 95 kilos of mint.
He will use a state of the art speed pourer (pictured below right) specially developed by Uber Bar Tools for the event.
"This is an upgraded version of the Proflow pourer, which is normally a four second count pourer," Uber Bar Tools' Michael Silvers told TheShout.
"We've actually configured this to be a three count pourer for this event to make it just a little bit quicker."
Coates (pictured above) said there are many personal and professional reasons behind the GWR attempt, "not least because we believe Australian bartenders are the best in the world and should be recognised for their skill, creativity and professionalism".
No Vacancy Mojito Motel GWR Challenge, sponsored by Bacardi and Uber Bar Tools will be held at No Vacancy – 12 Kellett Street, Kings tonight – Friday 7 December, 11pm until 12am.
