Yes You Can Drinks is kicking off Pride and Mardi Gras season with the official launch of its Yas You Can Peach Bellini, which sees 10 per cent of total sales donated to HIV and LGBTQIA+ health organisation ACON.
The canned cocktail offers an alcohol-free alternative in the fast growing RTD category, which Tyler Martin, Co-Founder of Yes You Can Drinks, sees as an opportunity for consumers to celebrate in moderation, without being excluded from social settings.
“Mardi Gras is about celebration and inclusivity, two pillars that we want to build Yes You Can Drinks around. We want people to socialise, have fun and party, regardless of whether they’re drinking alcohol or not,” he says.
The Peach Bellini flavour is a classic combination of Australian peaches, fragrant bubbles, and floral and botanical flavours from rose vermouth, packaged in rainbow-printed 250ml cans.
“We saw peach as a flavour trending and saw that nobody else in non-alc was moving in that direction. We thought it was a perfect fun and fresh flavour for a range of occasions, and it is already shaping up to be our most popular flavour,” says Martin.
“It’s a bright can with incredible flavour. The perfect drink for pre, during and after the party, and if you’re feeling it, it can also be a mixer. They’re portable so that consumers can enjoy them conveniently in public without any worries.”
Speaking to The Shout, Martin said he is extremely proud to be working with ACON, a pioneering organisation in the LGBTQIA+ community.
“ACON is New South Wales’ leading HIV and LGBTQIA+ charity, and since 1985 has played a major role in supporting the community through programs and services in HIV prevention and support, as well as in LGBTQIA+ community health including support for mental health, healthy aging, domestic and family violence, alcohol and other drugs, community safety and social inclusion.
“As ACON approaches its 36th year, it is incredible for our small business to have such a strong crossover in values with community, inclusivity and equality key pillars of both parties.
“We are honoured to throw our support behind ACON and the LGBTQIA+ community in what will be an exciting, celebratory, and now, perhaps an ever so slightly less boozy Mardi Gras.”
ACON CEO Nicolas Parkhill also spoke about the new partnership: “We are grateful to Yes You Can Drinks for choosing ACON as the beneficiary of their new initiative. Support such as this is important and makes an impact as they help us do our work in improving the health and wellbeing of our communities.
“We are extremely excited to partner with You Can Drinks to deliver the Yas You Can limited edition can and work together to support our LGBTQIA+ community.”
