Pressman’s Cider has teamed up with Grinders coffee to produce the Pressman’s Cide-Kick an innovative flavour trial which is currently on tap in selected venues across Australia.
The brew came about after the Pressman’s brewers at The Australian Beer Company pondered how they could combine their love of beer and cider with their enjoyment of a daily coffee. The brweers met with coffee experts at Grinders and explored different combinations of beans, roasts and blends with the Pressman’s apple cider and the Cide-Kick was born.
Australian Beer Company general manager Derek O’Donnell said: “The fresh, crisp taste from Goulburn Valley apples worked best with the soft notes and tones of Arabica coffee beans and after testing various infusion strengths, the ‘eureka’ moment came when the team nailed it and the final formulation was locked in. This beautiful balance of the fantastic attributes of cider, complemented by the enjoyable kick from the caffeine finish was captured in the name Cide-Kick.
“We see it as a fun and exciting innovation. We’ve released it only as a limited edition draught at this stage, very much as a trial, and we’re looking forward to the feedback it gets from customers and consumers.”
The result is Cide-Kick, a blend of Pressman’s All Australian Apple Cider and 100 per cent Arabica coffee extract. The brew is on trial at 10 venues across Australia, although they do expect to sell out quickly.
