Voyager Estate’s winemaker has tipped the 2014 vintage as one of the best the winery has seen for white wines ahead of the release of current vintage whites.
Manager of winemaking and viticulture, Steve James, said the 2014 vintage saw near perfect conditions that measured up with the consistency and excellence of the renowned 2012 vintage.
The Margaret River winery has just released its 2014 Voyager Estate Chenin Blanc and 2014 Sauvignon Blanc Semillon along with its 2012 vintage red release which includes the 2012 Voyager Estate Shiraz and 2012 Girt by Sea Cabernet Merlot.
“The 2014 vintage will go down as one of the best white wine vintages we have seen at Voyager Estate. The quality has been absolutely outstanding,” said James.
“Whilst 2012 had its challenges early in the season, conditions were perfect during the all-important ripening stage enabling the Voyager Estate 2012 Shiraz and 2012 Girt by Sea Cabernet Merlot to develop intense flavours and maintain all the hallmarks of the Voyager style. Outstanding autumnal ripening conditions with warm, dry days and cool evenings were perfect for the reds, producing wines with excellent tannins and concentrated flavours of red and dark fruits.”
Voyager Estate’s 2014 whites and 2012 reds are available now.
