A bottleshop on Sydney’s North Shore is planning to bring the cellar door to the city with the launch of an innovative wine tasting concept.
Quintessential Food and Liquor Market in Chatswood is getting ready to launch Pop Up Cellar Door, a bi-monthly program that will see the bottleshop host 15 to 20 wineries from a specific region, giving them the chance to connect directly with the customer.
Held within the dedicated tasting room at Quintessential, Pop Up Cellar Door will run all month, with winemakers and sales reps encouraged to be on hand over the weekends when the Pop Up Cellar Door is open to pour their wines and promote the winery.
Quintessential Food and Liquor Market’s John Quinn said Pop Up Cellar Door offers a new promotional window for his wine supplier partners to reach out to wine drinkers in Sydney’s affluent northern suburbs.
"If you’ve always wanted the opportunity to showcase regional wines in a mobile cellar door then this may be the opportunity. The idea is, every second month our cellar room will be transformed into a temporary cellar door hosting tastings and of course wine sales."
"Each month we’ll focus on and only sell wines from a specific region, such as the Hunter one month, Barossa the next,” said Quinn.
"Customers will also be able to access www.popupcellardoor.com.au, which will promote the region of the month via winery info, tasting notes, awards, write ups, and web links. Upcoming regions will also have a presence, however, the website is not an active selling vehicle as the intention is to get consumers to taste the wines, like in a real cellar door."
Quinn is currently in talks with several wineries ahead of the launch. Wineries that would like to get involved should click here.
