The world’s biggest brewer, Anheuser-Busch InBev, has entered into a joint venture with coffee pod and machine manufacturer Keurig to look at the development of an in-home alcohol drink system.

The new venture will look to bring together the technology from Keurig’s KOLD system for at home soft drinks, plus AB InBev’s brewing and packaging expertise. It will strive to bring these technologies together and create an in-home full adult beverage category for beer, spirits, cocktails and mixers.

The CEO of the new venture, Nathaniel Davis, said: “We’re thrilled to be moving forward with this joint venture and look forward to working closely with the Keurig Green Mountain team to explore the possibilities of what we can achieve together.

“We can’t wait to get started.”

"We are excited to partner with AB InBev to develop a new system for the adult beverage category. We look forward to combining our capabilities and technologies to deliver innovation for consumers," added Bob Gamgort, Keurig Green Mountain CEO.
