Five licensed premises in Australia have been selected to participate in an introductory trial of Absolut’s new 100 proof vodka.

Absolut 100 is now being served at The Tilbury in Sydney, The Metropol in Melbourne, Elsewhere in Surfers Paradise, Sugar in Adelaide and the Universal Bar in Perth. The product is also being trialed in 95 other bars around the world.

“Absolut 100 offers a powerful but smooth new taste with slight notes of herbs and spices and a long, warm, smooth aftertaste,” Absolut said in a statement.

Universal Bar licensee Trevor Candido agreed. “It’s actually got a smoother taste than regular Absolut so we are finding people are drinking it a lot with mixers,” he said.

“It’s only been two weeks but it’s going well and the product looks great. And they’ve backed it up with point of sale material and specially made tall spouted glasses. They’re really going to town promoting this one.”

Absolut 100 is packaged in a semi-opaque black glossy bottle with the Absolut logo and body copy embossed in shining silver. It will be available nationally from June at bars and selected bottle shops at a RRP of $55.
