Seven out of ten per licensed venues in Adelaide’s CBD have agreed to support a 3:00am lockout following collaborative talks with the South Australian Police Force.

Discussions between police and the industry regarding implementation options and a co-operative, collaborative outcome commenced in late March.

The AHA’s South Australian chapter commended the police for effective community policing through working with key stakeholders for a voluntary initiative.

“A legislative response or ‘imposing’ conditions simply reflects an inability to communicate strategy and an inability to convince stakeholders of the relative merits of any proposal,” Horne said. “Seven out of 10 venues signing on is a great outcome in such a short time and is an overwhelming vote of support by any measure.”
