There are less than four days until the doors open to the largest exhibition of gaming-related technology and products in Australasia, and the crème of the industry are converging on Sydney for a three-day bonanza.

Beginning at 5am this morning, over 500 exhibition stand builders, carpenters, riggers, electricians, carpet layers and other tradesmen descended on the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre (SCEC) to build the set for the Australasian Gaming Expo (AGE) trade show, operating next week Tuesday 21, Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 August.

Over 1,000 truckloads of the world’s best and latest gaming and hospitality equipment will be moved in to the Expo, including over 750 new gaming machines.

The crews, cherrypickers and boom lifts will be working until late Monday night to build 185 exhibition stands.

The AGE takes up 15,000 square metres – roughly the size of an Aussie Rules football oval – making it easily the biggest event of its type in Australia and one of the world’s biggest.

Over 8,000 people are registered to attend, and this year one visitor each of the three days will win a trip for two to Las Vegas compliments of the Gaming Technologies Association (GTA), which owns the event.
