The Australian Liquor Stores Association (ALSA) and IRI (formerly IRI-Aztec) are joining forces to produce a 'State of the Industry' report for the Australian retail liquor industry.
The report will utilise some of the key strengths of both organisations to provide a new, informative and insightful overview of, and for, the packaged retail liquor industry each year.
ALSA CEO Terry Mott told TheShout: "This is another added value that ALSA brings to the industry, to give a snapshot of the overall size, health and trends within the industry. We're looking to build on the Market Insights report that we launched at Parliament House in Canberra."
This key industry partnership brings together IRI's expertise as the leading data solutions provider in liquor with the leading voice of the retail liquor industry, ALSA.
As mentioned by Mott, the new ALSA – IRI State of the Industry report will build on ALSA's Retail Liquor Market Insights report, which was a brief snapshot of the industry: the regulatory environment, segmentation of the market and performance. That report also highlighted the current trends, performance and social contributions of Australia's retail packaged liquor sector, as well as some of the challenges facing the sector.
Speaking about the new partnership and report, Hugh Edwards-Neil, the retail channel development manager with IRI, told TheShout: "IRI is very excited to be working with ALSA to provide the industry with a new level of insights and information through the State of the Industry report."
The inaugural ALSA – IRI State of the Industry Report is scheduled to be released early in 2016.
