The Australian Liquor Stores Association (ALSA) is about to embark on this year's study tour to the USA.

Following on from the success of last year's trip to London and Paris, the group of retailers and suppliers will be visiting Chicago and San Francisco.

They will meet with their fellow retailers and suppliers in those markets, to see how they operate and how some of the learnings from the trip can be applied in the Australian context.

ALSA president Giuseppe Minissale, who will be leading the study tour, commented: "We are excited by the opportunities this study tour will present the group. The US market has in many respects evolved beyond where we are at in Australia and we are looking forward to being able to observe, listen and absorb, so that we can bring back some of our learnings and communicate them here."

ALSA has again asked Mal Higgs to put the program together for the trip and the experienced retailer has arranged a very busy schedule of meetings and presentations.

It is intended that the group's findings will be presented at the ALSA Annual Conference in August, this year taking place in Darwin.
