Archie Rose has responded to rumours in mainstream media that the company has been sounding out the market to look for buyers.

According to The Australian “talk in the market” is that investment bank Barrenjoey has been engaged to shop Archie Rose to the market and determine whether a buyer can be found.

However The Shout contacted Archie Rose Founder Will Edwards to comment on the speculation and he confirmed that the business were not consulted on the story.

Edwards told The Shout: “I can confirm we’re not ‘on the market’.”

Edwards founded the distillery in 2014 and since then it has become one of Australia’s premier spirit producers with a strong line-up of whisky, gin, rum and vodka as well as a number of limited releases.

In October Archie Rose won New Product of the Year at the Australian Liquor Industry Awards for its Bone Dry Gin, which Edwards described as “absolutely the best gin we have ever produced” when it launched in late 2021.
