Harbour city distillery, Archie Rose Distilling Co, has signed a three year partnership with one of Sydney’s most iconic cultural institutions: the Opera House.

The two organisations will work together on deliver events and experiences, that will highlight Archie Rose’s range of spirits, and the food, drink and entertainment offerings at the Opera House.

Will Edwards, Archie Rose Founder, described the deal as the attaining of a long-held ambition.

“The Opera House is literally and figuratively at the very core of what makes Sydney one of the world’s great cities, so the opportunity to partner with them has been a dream of ours since we first began producing spirits in Sydney in 2014,” Edwards said.

“Being able to announce that we’ve finally achieved this is a milestone moment for us as a brand. We can’t wait to bring incredible spirits and spirits experiences to the House – beginning with Sydney WorldPride 2023.”

To celebrate the start of this collaboration, the Opera House and Archie Rose are launching two limited-edition experiences as the venue.

The first is a Gin Spritz Masterclass and dinner, where guests will be lead through the creation of Archie Rose gin cocktails by one of the brand’s mixologists, before enjoying a three-course dinner at Portside Sydney. This experience will begin on Valentine’s Day, 2023.

The second has been designed to coincide with WorldPride 2023. Pride Tour is an hour-long in-depth tour of the Opera House, which highlights and celebrates LGBTQIA+ artists and creatives who have performed at the venue since it opened 50 years ago.

During the tour, guests will enjoy two Archie Rose Mardi Gras cocktails designed especially for the event, and will visit the Opera House’s new Pride Lounge. This space will host an immersive exhibition, containing the stories of LGBTQIA+ stars.

“The Opera House is a place like no other. In our 50th year, we’re continuing to create new ways for people to discover this incredible building and to share in its magic,” said Jade McKellar, Sydney Opera House Chief Customer Officer.

McKellar highlighted Archie Rose as a local spirits success story, with this part of the motivation for the partnership.

“It’s fantastic to welcome Archie Rose as a partner of the Opera House – they’re an innovative Australian brand, proudly founded in Sydney, with a passionate and creative approach to launching bespoke spirits and experiences. Over the next three years, the partnership will help create unique events, experiences, and products that express these shared values and welcome more people to Australia’s most famous House.”
