Despite some negative reaction from analysts, Aristocrat Leisure CEO Jamie Odell says the business is well on track for its planned turnaround.

Aristocrat on Monday indicated that it expected a net profit of between $30 million and $33 million for the six months to June 30, 2012.

The Group posted a net profit of $24.9 million for the previous corresponding period.

Some analysts argued the result was short of expectations, but the company said it represents the group's "continued global momentum as previously flagged to the market".

"The company reiterates that it expects continued strong NPAT (net profit after tax) growth over the 12 months to 30 September 2012, and also the calendar year to 31 December 2012, compared with the prior corresponding periods," Aristocrat said in a statement.

Aristocrat's half-year results are scheduled for release on August 28.
