Belvedere vodka yesterday (Sep 16) announced the search for a new global brand ambassador has begun with applicants encouraged to use social media site Facebook to make their case for the position.

Held at an exclusive press conference at Sydney’s ivy, global Belvedere vodka ambassador, Claire Smith proclaimed that, while she loves her job of the last seven years, she 'cannot do it alone'.

The worldwide search, entitled ‘A Bartender’s Dream Job’ will see entrants compete for a one-year, US$100,000 contract to work alongside Smith as Belvedere vodka global ambassador.

Applicants must upload a one-minute video of themselves to the official Facebook site, demonstrating their creativity and finesse in making vodka cocktails, as well as their love of Belvedere.

“We are thrilled to extend such a tremendous opportunity to so many talented bartenders and mixologists around the world,” said Smith.

“It is our hope that the competition not only unites those with a keen understanding of super-premium vodka, but also inspires a higher level of innovation and creativity in cocktail creation."

The on-line competition closes on October 15, and the winner will be announced on December 15 following a series of global semi-finals.
