Asahi Premium Beverages (APB) has continued its acquisition strategy with the purchase of several selected spirit brands from ASM Liquor.

The acquisition strategy by APB has seen Mountain Goat, Peroni, Grolsch and UK craft brewer Meantime, join the company’s portfolio and now four spirits brands will also be coming on board.

The deal includes Vodka O, Tequila Blu, Spicebox Whisky and VDKA 6100. The deal sees APB acquire Vodka O and Tequila Blu in all markets where these brands are currently sold.

Spicebox Whisky, a Canadian spiced whisky, is made and distributed under license and is available in FSBS and RTD.

With VDKA 6100, APB will acquire the brand for use in Australia, New Zealand and Japan, with ASM retaining the brand for use in the US and other markets where it is currently sold.

Scott Hadley, APB’s Chief Commercial Officer, said: “These brands will give APB an important position within the full strength spirits category. This will mean we can offer our customers an even broader range of alcohol beverages.”

The deal will go through quickly, with the last delivery from ASM having already taken place on Thursday. APB is taking orders for the new products from Monday, 7 August with the first delivery taking place the day after.
