Sydney’s historical precinct The Rocks will come alive this weekend as the fifth annual Australian Beer Festival kicks off tomorrow (Oct 24).

Over two days, beer-lovers can sample a vast array of Australian boutique and craft beers in a specially created area around the Australian Hotel.

More than 120 different beers will be available for sampling including brews from Matilda Bay, Outback Brewery and Little Creatures.

Little Creatures won the Award for ‘Best Craft Beer’ for their Pale Ale at the 2009 Australian Liquor Industry Awards (ALIA) on Wednesday night (Oct 21).

The event is the official beer festival of the Sydney Morning Herald’s Sydney International Food Festival, which runs throughout October.

Tickets for the weekend cost $10 and include 10 tastings.
