Local rum Inner Circle Green Dot has this week (Mar 15-19) been named ‘Spirit of the Year’ at the 2010 World Spirit Awards.
Held in Klagenfurt, Austria, the Awards attracted 65 entries from across the globe, with submissions in a variety of spirit categories, including rum, whisky and Cognac. The Inner Circle range received double-gold medals for the Red and Green Dot varieties, while the Black Dot received gold.
“Our wins at the World Spirit Awards 2010 are testament to the superiority of the Inner Circle range,” said Bacardi Lion marketing director Suzie MacDermott. “The brand’s rich Australian heritage, quality ingredients and contemporary look are taking rum to the next level.”
Inner Circle rum was first produced by the CSR sugar company in the 1900s. It has been a part of the Bacardi Lion portfolio since 2007.
