Vanguard Luxury Brands has been inundated with video entries from bartenders across the country for its Square One vodka competition.

As part of the competition, which will reward the winner with a trip to this year’s Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans, bartenders need to submit a video of themselves making their cocktail entry.

A selection of some of the video entries can be found on the Vanguard Luxury Brands website. And it seems the submissions from Australian bartenders are a head above those from their U.S. counterparts.

"Allison Evanow, owner of Square One, has been blown away by the quality of the entries. She says Aussie bartenders are leagues ahead of most US bartenders," France says.

"She was expecting variations on Collins drinks and was seriously impressed to see much more complex drinks."

Bartenders from all major Australian cities except Perth have thrown their hat in the ring for the competition. Any bartender wishing to submit an entry has until June 30 to do so.
