Nominations are now open for the annual City of Sydney Business Awards, showcasing outstanding businesses in the areas of hospitality, tourism, business, sustainability and more.
As the front line in service and tourism for New South Wales and often Australia, Sydney hotels and restaurants are well-positioned to take advantage of the awards' benefits of enhanced credibility, marketing opportunities and networking.
Categories relevant to hospitality include 'Pubs, Hotels, Nightclubs & Venues', 'Small Bars', and 'Takeaway food & catering' and are part of assorted awards across the broader fields of tourism, professional services, retail and more.
To be eligible, businesses must have fewer than 200 employees and be located within the 33 suburbs of the City of Sydney Local Government Area.
Finalists for the 2011 award for Pubs were the Glenmore Rooftop Hotel, Harts Pub, Jacksons on George, Pyrmont Point Hotel, The Australian Hotel, The Belvedere Hotel, and The Lord Nelson Brewery Hotel, with the Bowlers’ Club at 99 on York taking the prize.
Visitors to the Sydney Business Awards website can nominate a business, including themselves.
The top ten vote-getters will be announced August 20, progressing to the finalist stage and invited to an exclusive reception at Town Hall on August 28.
